WHY WORKSHOPS

The Courage of Now: A Yoga Workshop - Barbara Ruzansky & Dr. Peter Meadow
February 2, 2008
Saturday 1:00 - 6:00 pm
$75 … registration required, open to all
The freedom to live a passionate and fulfilling life is made possible by being completely honest with
what is real for you in the moment. Our attachment to having
things other than as they are is the root of addictive
behavior, emotional distress, depression, self-judgment, and
suffering. The core of yoga is about dismantling our
attachment to the stories that wreck our lives. It is about
developing the tools to be present and conscious to whatever
occurs. Using asana, meditation and other awareness and
communication techniques this workshop focuses on the art of
being here now. Workshop includes a challenging and
revitalizing yoga practice. Heated room for yoga practice.

Join us for a 2 ½ hour practice combining Craniosacral
Therapy and yoga as you move beyond your physical and
emotional edges. If you are looking to heal physical pain,
this workshop may hold some of the answers. Pain is a
complicated condition with a myriad of causes and
manifestations. We’ve learned to accommodate the pain in
various ways, but it continues and persists at various levels.
Learn to look inside yourself, discover what’s there, and go
deeper. You will be guided through a challenging asana
practice while getting hands on body work which addresses your
personal physical issues. The integration of the asana
practice and cranial sacral therapy will take you to a new
place of understanding your own body.
DJ Horn PT, LMT has 25 years of body work experience and
specializes in Craniosacral Therapy (CST). Having attributed
her life changes to Yoga and CST, she believes the combined
practice can be an extremely powerful tool to move beyond
current limitations.
Marcia Vallier has been teaching yoga since 2001 and has
trained with Baron Baptiste and Todd Norian, as well as
working with Ann Greene, Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee and Ana
Forrest. She is also a massage therapist with training in Paul
St John Neuromuscular Therapy and Thai Yoga Training.

Are you looking for me? I am in the next
seat.
My shoulder is against yours.
You will not find me in stupas, not in Indian shrine
rooms, nor in synagogues, nor in cathedrals:
not in masses, nor kirtans, not in legs winding around your
own neck,
nor in eating nothing but vegetables.
When you really look for me, you will see me instantly -
you will find me in the tiniest house of time.
— Kabir
Yoga is so much more than just the physical practice. We’ll
spend the afternoon together talking about the bigger picture,
exploring the role of the yamas & niyamas (spiritual ethics)
in the yogic path, examining a few passages from the Bhagavad
Gita and the Yoga Sutras, discussing the yogic view of the
mind, meditating together, and sharing the beautiful poetry of
enlightenment. Join us.
Dr. Peter Meadow has taught and practiced yoga, meditation and
Enlightenment Intensives for over 35 years. He spent several
years living in a California ashram studying within the
lineage of Swami Kripalu. It is here that Peter developed his
deep dedication to holistic therapy and lifestyle. He also
holds an M.A. in philosophy. Peter graduated from Palmer
College of Chiropractic in 1984 and has run a thriving
chiropractic practice in Farmington, CT. since then.
