Many practitioners of yoga, both novice and teacher alike, have had problems with their sacroiliac joint. What poses can make this better? Worse? This workshop, for teachers and serious students, will include anatomy, movement principles, therapeutics and applied asana practice to help us all teach with more knowledge and compassion.

Living Your Yoga ... open to all
Friday, May 7; 11:30 - 2:00 & 3:00 - 5:30

What we do "on the mat" is given perspective by how we live our lives off the mat. Workshop includes a short discussion from the Yoga Sutra, active asana practice, restorative yoga, pranayama and meditation. The first session will focus on "active practice": moving, strengthening, warming with awareness, including standing poses and backbends. After a short break, we will return to the mat for a "quiet" practice of meditation, pranayama and restorative yoga. This well-rounded practice will serve to center and inspire us as we open our hearts to living well in the world.

Please note: For both classes, each student is required to bring the following props: stick mat, one block, eye cover, 4 blankets, and one bolster. The studio will supply 1 block, and 1 blanket per student. You are responsible for sticky mat, 3 additional blankets, eye cover, and a bolster.
